Job Summary
Reporting to the Operations Director, the person in this role is primarily responsible for proactively managing the quantity and quality of fruits and vegetables in the refrigerators. Their main responsibilities include inspecting, sorting, rotating, storing fruits and vegetables, reserving products, assisting with order preparation, and safely operating a forklift and/or pallet jack. They also ensure the cleanliness of the areas under their responsibility.
Your Role on a Daily Basis
The person in this role must:
- Transport and place pallets between the elevator and production lines as needed by production;
- Respect the fragility of the products (heavier products at the bottom of the pallet and more fragile products on top);
- Ensure the good condition of the pallets used and secure them properly when assembling orders;
- Operate the pallet jack and forklift safely.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma (secondary 5) or equivalent;
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar position or 6 months within the company in another department;
- Experience in the field – fruits and vegetables (asset);
- Experience in operating a forklift and/or pallet jack (asset);
- Ability to read, interpret, and complete work documents;
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Profile and Required Skills
- Ability to read, interpret, and write work documents in French;
- Endurance to cold and humidity (between 0 and 5 degrees Celsius);
- Leadership skills, autonomy, and a sense of organization;
- Able to work as part of a team;
- Possess good communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities.
